Frequently Asked Questions
Have a Question?
We’ve compiled a list of frequently asked questions to provide more information on common dental subjects. Don’t see your question listed below? Give us a call at 519-824-5678 or send us an email.
How can I make an appointment?
Your initial appointment is booked with the receptionist. Your regularly scheduled scalings (cleanings) are pre-booked by the hygienist at the end of your appointment. We strongly suggest that you pre-book an appointment to ensure your preference of time and date. Our office will send a reminder email/text/ or call before your appointment.
What do I need to bring to my first appointment?
Please bring your medical doctor’s information (name, address, phone number…), a list of any medications you may use and your insurance information. Please feel free to download and fill in the medical history form from our website in order to save you time the day of your appointment.
Where can I park my car?
We offer a large free parking lot next to the office.
I have terrible dental anxiety. What should I do?
You have many different options for sedation dentistry. Please check our sedation link to see if you would benefit from a certain form of sedation. Click here for sedation options
What if I cannot keep an appointment?
We ask for 2 business days notice for cancellation of an appointment. We are happy to reschedule an appointment for you. As a courtesy to our team and to other patients that could have been accommodated we require cancellation notification.
How does payment for dental treatment work?
Payments are taken right after your appointment. You can pay by cash, debit, cheque and major credit cards are all accepted. There are payment installment options available for certain circumstances. If applicable, we would be happy to assist you in putting your insurance claim through, and the insurance cheque would then come straight to you.
How do you set up your fees?
Our office stays current with the Ontario Dental Association fee guide and is consistent with all other dental offices. There are no additional charges or taxes for any procedure.
I don’t know what my insurance covers me for?
Most insurance companies will not release your information to us due to confidentiality policies. However, if you call the insurance company and obtain a list of what you are covered for, we will be able to explain it to you. Also, we can send a predetermination (estimate) to your insurance before any procedure is booked.
What if I have an after hours dental problem?
Our office messaging service provides a mobile number of one of our doctors. Our doctors have access to our patient files from home and are available after hours and weekends to advise our patients and/or see them if need be. There is also an after hours dental emergency service through Guelph General Hospital if needed.
